When I first heard Klezmer music played in Kazimierz (Krakow’s historic Jewish area) it was love at first listen. Klezmer music is the traditional music of the Ashkenazi Jews of Central and Eastern Europe, who, in turn, borrowed richly from regional folk music and Slavic musical forms.

Nigel Kennedy was an English musical prodigy who has managed to take his training as a classical violinist in surprising and creative directions:

Here, he plays alongside the band ‘Kroke’. I urge you to listen to their album of collaboration ‘East Meets East’ but first to enjoy this piece entitled ‘Night in the Garden of Eden’.
