The Wind Has Died

My little boat,
Take care,

There is no
Land in sight.

Charles Simic’s gem-like poem seems apt to introduce the work of two musicians – Cyrus Shahrad and Daudi Matsiko. Shahrad (‘Hiatus’) is a British Iranian artist living in South London. Matsiko is of Ugandan heritage born and raised in the U.K. Both bring their rich cultural heritage to a collaboration that seems so full of longing, so full of echos of past lives and lands just out of reach.

I love their collaboration ‘All The Troubled Hearts’ – so darkly beautiful.
