Charlotte Gainsbourg is one of the greatest and most daring actresses of her generation. Famously softly spoken, she lets her roles pack a punch! I first saw her as Jane Eyre in one of the many adaptations of that classic English novel. She still remains, for me, by far the best incarnation of the character.
Later, I discovered her music. Distinctive and unique, she brings a mesmerising quality to everything she does. A beautiful combination of her famous parents ( iconic French singer Serge Gainsbourg and the English actress Jane Birkin), her unassuming manner belies her intelligence and shining talent.
