‘Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea’ is the English singer-songwriter PJ Harvey’s fifth album. It seems fitting it was released in 2000, at the turn of the new millennium, as it contains energy and nostalgia in equal measure.
There is a famous maxim that ‘happiness writes white’. Yet not here! In ‘Good Fortune’, Harvey manages to convey a youthful freewheeling joy. I love the video too, making a random, nighttime excursion into the city strangely glamorous.
