He’s referring to Muriel Spark’s masterpiece, ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’ voted by Time magazine as one of the top 100 novels of the 20th century. Set in a Scottish school it follows the affect of a teacher on a group of girls. Is Miss Brodie’s bewitching personality a blessing or a curse?
I’ve always rather admired her strong-willed Romanticism (which is perhaps why I was cast in the role in my College’s production when I was 18!)
